Oh. That's an easier question. The software is, yes. You can upgrade the software to 3.0. As far as getting the 3GS hardware in a 3G... that answer is a no.

Oh, I'm sure they will not be motivated to work with me at all! I am no longer a customer. (Part of the budget tightening, I'm afraid.) I was just wondering if the phone itself was upgradable.
September 1
Susan, Usually with AT&T, you sign a 2 year contract to get the special price and can not upgrade until you contract is up. This will depend on how you signed up with AT&T. You usually can upgrade anyway, but you will end up paying the full price...

Got my iPhone about a year ago. Loved it but had to downsize for budget considerations. Still have the iPhone. Now the new iPhone 3GS's are all over the place. Mine was a 3G. Is it upgradable to the 3GS? Thanks, Susan

Have to agree with Ed again. Once you think you learned it all, Apple goes and introduces new Macs (like today *sigh*) and you have to start over again. Glad Apple Care knew the trick. When in doubt, they are usually a good resource too.

Couldn't agree with you more, Ed. That's why the Apple Care tech had me clear out my cache and start over. It worked, btw. Thanks again, Susan

Computers and software are a continual learning experience. I know because I have supported hundreds of Macs full time for years. You never know it all. One tip I will give you. If a file is corrupt and you take it to another computer.....it will ...

Guess what! I called Apple Care, and we discovered there was a data corruption thing happening. I've re-created my presentation (yes, again) after trashing the cache, and this appears to be the fix. Hear that, fellows? It wasn't ME! (Well, maybe ...

I'm using '09 regularly now and enjoy some of the new things you can do Keynote. I'm not a spreadsheet guy very much but I do like some the things in Pages '09. I use Keynote the most. I use for training and what not.

I'm listening to both of you, and I'm polishing up my credit card. Do you recommend the '09 upgrade? I know you were evaluating it. If so, how much for the upgrade? Thanks again, Jonesy.

I second Ed. Online videos are my little secret to keeping up with everything myself. Not saying I don't like helping, but now that learning by watching people on online video is out...

Thanks again, Ed. This sounds like an investment well worth making. Sa-lute! Good suggestion. Cheers, Susan

Run don't walk to your computer and have a credit card ready to spend....... wait for it........ $25 for a months worth of all the on line video training you can eat. Lynda.com has 7.5 hours of Keynote '08 Essential Training. I get this as a perk ...

Hi, Guys -- This time I actually dug out the iWork '08 owner's manual. Because according to Keynote Help, I can print out the presentation, complete with presenter notes. But when I follow the directions, the links it says should show up . . . do...

Hi Susan,
Thank you for commenting on the cat picture. This was my brother's cat, and the cat is deceased. I used a Sony camera, but I don't remember which one, and I don't own all my original Sony's now. Sorry.

Hurray! I remembered how to share files on iDisk!

One day I'll look back and laugh at myself. Right now I'm just celebrating a minor success.

Thanks, all, for your encouragement and patience.

Attending the SIG does not mean you have to join. Attending would however expose you to the world of video editing and all that relates in some way to Final Cut Express and to a degree iMovie. Final Cut Studio has a high price but to produce any video properly requires that it be edited and shot with a particular set of skills. That is also what we are about.

I invite you to consider attending the Final Cut SIG at 9:00 on our meeting dates. Issues such as those you present are the meat and potatoes of what we are about... Problem solving and information sharing. Among our talented members are Don Smith who edits video for NBC news. Don is the heart and soul of our group and we have much to learn from him. His website is newsvideo.com. I invite you to come and check us out. Modestly, I am the facilitator of the Final Cut SIG.

Welcome to the Apple Corps! Not to reinvent the wheel here but what if your presentation were done in Keynote? I think it is a free 30 trial download. It probably plays nicer with Apple programs than Microsoft's Power Point. Keynote (part of iWork) is the unfair competitive advantage that the advertising companies (that I support daily) use. Sounds like you have the ambition to be a Mac Power user. You definitely have the drive. No pun intended. Welcome.
