Looking forward to Apple upgrading all their applications to 64 bit. Snow Leopard is the future. Maybe I am an optimist but I think we have a faster, more stable future on the Mac.

Noticed that my HP C7280 All In One stopped scanning after upgrading to SL. Had to delete all of the installed HP software for the printer so the new drivers can work. No fax, but scanning is supported via Preview and Image Capture. Basic printing works. Front panel buttons aren't supported yet.

Alas the pirate build I downloaded from the internet is the same build number at the release from Apple. Now I am replacing the pirate build with the one I purchased tonight from John Jones.

It's official. August 28th. Now the question of what is the build number.

Maybe we should start a betting pool. Snowy on August 28, August 31 or some other date. Separate bets on which version is Golden Master.

Snowy: What is confusing to me is that the list of Intel 64 bit programs listed in Activity Monitor and About This Mac/ Software/Applications does not list the new Final Cut Studio or any of its parts. Is Puzzlement. I know this seems to contradict what I said earlier about Final Cut. The measurements were from different sources one before and two after Snow Leopard.

Previewing Snow Leopard... all I can says is "Wow!" Speed is easily observed.

Hold 6 and 4 keys at boot to enable 64-bit Snow Leopard (Updated)

Most interesting article on how to enable 64 bit on applicable Macs running Snow Leopard;

If you have an Intel Mac I think you will love Snow leopard.

The Snow Leopard Build 10A432 I am using has remarkable speed scrolling graphics in Safari in my 2008 Mac Pro. Most of the under the hood apps are 64 bit allowing them to use all my ram (12GB) and with Grand Central all 8 cores. Now waiting for Aperture update and confirmation that this build is Golden Master. Will try some video editing tonight in the new Final Cut. This feels like a significant speed increase to me.
