The Apple Corps

Back on Aug 28th I installed Snow Leopard on both of my iMacs. One went flawlessly and the other was another story. I thought I had everything under control and working on the machine that had trouble. But at some point while piddling with the machine I finally looked in the Console screen.

Console is a program that is tucked away in the apps/utilities folder. When I ran console I discovered that I had about six applications that were re-spawning every few seconds.
My Eyetv USB card and HP Printer drivers for example were crashing and restarting over and over again. I had been able to both print and watch tv and had not known there was anything really going on.

The jobs that kept showing up over and over in the console screen I google searched and I found solutions or answers about them all. Most of the items were solved by seeking out and installing new versions of older third party apps.

Happy Hunting.

Thanks for the insight Allen. It would be enlightening to learn the meaning of some console messages. Is there a reference article somewhere? Thanks

Ed anything I didn't have a clue about what it meant I just googled the words out of the message. In most cases I learned a great deal more about the issue than I knew before.
