I will need to manipulate my schedule slightly but I want to go to Uptown tomorrow. The Levitus video is captured in the computer and I hope to get it on the web in the next couple of nights. It is almost two hours long.....

Taylor. National Train Day is Saturday May 9th. I am considering taking another Amtrak trip from Dallas to Fort Worth and perhaps returning on Amtrak. If not TRE. Hope you can join my wife and me. Anyone else game?

Are any you guys up for a Uptown Bar and Grill experience? I think we need to celebrate all of our potential tax refunds and an Obama stimulation on Wednesday around 11ish. What did Dr. Mac really say?

Ooops... not Menu Control... its called Main Menu.

Don brought up a good point on keyboards... I don't like the standard Apple one that is now sold in that it is not good for heavy duty typing and the feel is only so-so. It looks great and is stylish... just not what I need. Right now I'm using the old Apple white keyboard, which feels much better even though it has a tendency to catch all kinds of crap inside of it. I need to find a better one someday soon.

Oh yeah, I also added Menu Control... pretty slick pull down for some basic maintenance things. Since my machine is on all the time, most of these maintenance things get run early in the AM automatically. But it sure is a cool tool especially for those with Mac Books since they usually are not left on over night.

I downloaded OmniDazzle and the spotlight (flashlight) thingy worked fine for me. I changed its size to a larger than the default, but it worked. Tried the others like pixie dust... cute, but not useful. I did like the ability to add boxes/circles around areas to focus on for a presentation.

Interesting about your findings on the keyboard. I don't look at the keys when I type either. However, I was really more interested in the MX Revolution mouse. That's what I want to try out!

For the Cover Flow effect (Called "CoverFlux"), download the free FxFactory at http://noiseindustries.com/

Then go to http://idustrialrevolution.com/
There you'll find a list of effects, some of which are free. You'll see CoverFlux in the list.

The closing credits plug-in is called Alex 4D. It's actually two plug-ins at:

I wrote down everything that Dr. Mac recommended at the 4-11-09 meeting.

I went to Micro Center and bought the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. It was AWFUL! The "touch" was awful, and it had NO USB ports! Then I remember a comment that Levitas said during his presentation "I don't look at the screen. I'm always looking down." He was talking about typing. That means he's not a touch-typist. He's typing with two index fingers. No wonder he doesn't feel the "badness" of this keyboard! I type by touch. I look at the screen. The "touch" of that keyboard was TERRIBLE!

At once point I asked him if it's OmniDazzle that made the green semi-circle's around his mouse pointer and he said yes. I had asked because I want that effect when making an instructional video but I didn't see that effect when he demo'ed OmniDazzle. Well, I downloaded OmniDazzle and that effect is not in there. In fact, the only time you can get an OmniDazzle effect to even happen is when you press a key combination. Rats. I want that green semi-circle effect where you forget about it and it appears momentarily whenever you click the mouse button.

Downloaded the iStat menu extra. Can't get it to show up in the menu! It shows up as a pref pane in System Preferences but have had no luck finding the switch that puts it in the menu bar.

SimplyHeadlines.com is great! Already enjoying it.
