The Apple Corps

Howdy all,

So my iOmega hard drive just bit the big one. No worries though because I have a back up of most of the stuff in there and I have ways of recovering from hard drives.

Anywho, are there any NAS (Network Attached Storage for the rest of you) that you are particularly fond of? Any good ones that are not too expensive? I'd LOVE a Drobo but don't have the monies for a $500 plus one. Any suggestions appreciated!

Oh! The iOmega I had was USB and I attached it to my Airport Extreme Base station. I should of been turning the thing off when not needing it and so I feel that I have cause its demise. I may very well end up making a new one (hard drives are cheap) and calling it a day but wanted to know what you all use.

Follow up: Ok, so today I saw that my paycheck was a little better than usual and bit the bullet and got a Drobo. It doesn't hurt as much when you you have a gift card still needing to be used too.

I put two 500GB drives, one 400GB drive and a 250 inside. It is connected to my Mac via Firewire 800 right now and is doing the initial time machine back up and really fast speeds. I'm pretty happy with it especially knowing that I can always take out that 250 drive later and get 1TB drives and higher fairly cheap now a days.

I'm still interested what you all like to use for back up and if you are not backing up, why not!?
